Support Worker (SW/PEMBURY)
Service/Location: Aspens – Pembury Supported Living, Cornford Lane, Pembury, Tunbridge Wells, TN24QU
Do you enjoy seeing the people you support develop and become independent?
Would you enjoy being part of an experienced, long-standing and caring team?
We are looking for a Support Worker for our supported living services, to join our professional team that is dedicated to supporting people to achieve a progressively more independent life style and maximise their potential.
Our support workers work across three services (Willows, Hawthorns and Hollies) which support 16 adults with learning disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder and mental ill health. Our service users lead full and meaningful lives but can, on occasions, struggle to communicate effectively, which could lead to an increase in anxiety and behaviours that may challenge us.
The support workers assist service users with activities of daily living such as personal care, preparing meals and keeping the environment safe and homely. We also support with leisure activities such as swimming, pub trips, bowling, shopping, day trips, meals out, cinema and holidays amongst other things.
37 hours per week on a rota which includes weekends and sleep in nights. We are looking for flexibility but can also be flexible in return!
Aspens has over 100 years of experience in helping children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities, those on the autism spectrum, and/or those with complex needs. Through the provision of highly personalised, positive behaviour support, we aspire to enable people to learn new skills, live life to the full and contribute to society however possible.
At Aspens, the people we support and care for enjoy an active and fulfilling life. No two days are the same, just some of the activities our service users enjoy include swimming, theme parks, seaside trips, art and beauty.
Your local charity providing care and support to help people living with disabilities, complex needs and autism to live life to its full potential.
