Arts & Crafts Support Worker
Acorns Day Services, Pembury, Kent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri 8.15am-5pm

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic member of staff to support people with Autism Spectrum Conditions to participate in our regular activities within the Day Centre, based in Pembury.  

A qualification in, or a talent for Art/Craft, Pottery/Ceramics, Graphics/Animation or Photography skills would be really useful, but not essential. If you are interested in enabling other people to learn new skills, reach their full potential and have fun, then we’d love to hear from you.   

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Awareness and an understanding of Learning Difficulties, Autism and Asperger syndrome
  • Previous contact with vulnerable adults and young people with complex needs
  • Good communication skills, patience and flexibility
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word

Your main tasks will include assisting staff to run group sessions within the centre, supporting people with ASC to take part in sessions & learn new skills and general record keeping.
