Support Worker –Supported Living & Outreach Services
Gensing Rd Supported Living Service, St Leonards, East Sussex, TN38 OHE
Hours: 37 Hours per week. Shift patterns vary, staff must be flexible – some weekdays, weekends, evenings and sleep-in shifts are required.

At Gensing Road, we are proud to have many years of experience supporting people in their own homes to enable them to live as independently as possible. Typically, the people we support have a diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome or High Functioning Autism, they may also have associated mental health conditions, typically depression, anxiety, OCD. We also support people with Tourette’s syndrome.

We are looking for a reliable, fun, flexible support worker who ideally will have experience of working with people with a diagnosis of High Functioning Autism.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A Diploma/NVQ in Health and Social Care
  • Experience of working with people who have a diagnosis of High Functioning Autism and who experience mental health issues.
  • Have a working knowledge of the benefit and criminal justice systems
  • Be highly motivated and are able to work on their own initiative
  • Be well organised and able to prioritise tasks
  • A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Your normal working day could include, providing one to one physical and emotional support in a variety of settings, co-facilitating an Asperger support group, writing and facilitating reviews, supporting leisure activities, writing support plans and risk assessments, key working, attending Benefit assessments and Tribunals, or acting as an appropriate adult within the criminal justice system.
